Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Hecht has been Head of the Rail Vehicles Department at the Institute for Land and Sea Transport at the Technical University of Berlin since June 1, 1997. Markus Hecht is an expert for rail vehicles at the German and Swiss accreditation body DAKKS and SAS. Various advisory board activities supplement the cooperation with practice, eg member of the ERRAC Strategic Board (ERRAC = European Rail Research Advisory Council) and TIS (technical innovation group for rail freight transport). Since 2016 member of the VDI Advisory Board for Railway Technology. since 2016 he has been giving the “Rolling Stock” lecture at TUM Asia Singapore.
