
ACRT 2023 – Summary
On May 11-18, 2023 the Division of Rail Transport of the Poznań University of Technology hosted 23 foreign students as part of the Advanced Course of Railway Transportation. The event was international, and its participants came from Spain, Germany, USA, Latvia, Hungary, Algeria, Great Britain, Palestine, Tanzania and China.
The event consisted of 2 days of online lectures and another 4 days filled with stationary classes and visits to museums in Poznan. Participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the following topics: characteristics of the rail transport system, structural design of rail vehicles and infrastructure, vehicle maintenance and diagnostics. The participants also learned about the challenges of modern rail transport in the world and took part in an international discussion panel.
Both the Advanced Course of Railway Transportation and the related Advanced Course of Railway Engineering are cyclical and take place every year. The next edition of the Advanced Course of Railway Engineering course is planned for December 2023.
